The point is not whether the article is crap. The point is whether it'll 
do any good to tell the guy that it's crap. It's an ambitious ploy from 
Tom to get the guy onside, and it may not work, but abusing him will 
absolutely guarantee that he won't write anything good about us, will 
tell all his journalistic mates what arseholes we are, and it won't do 
us any favours at all.

If we're nice to the guy, then probably nothing will happen but we MIGHT 
get good coverage.
If we're rude to the guy, then probably nothing will happen but we might 
get appalling coverage.

Seems an easy choice.
