All these things are true. What you thought you'd achieve with a snotty email 
is beyond me. The article was written in such a way that did highlight other 
'alternative' ways to use parks, but which did so in a harmless and inoffensive 
way. If anything I felt it brought attention to the fact that the English are a 
slightly quirky bunch who pursue unusual hobbies.
 
Tom tried to turn that on its head by politely inviting the guy to a tournament 
and by giving him a few little facts which might sell him that little bit more. 
As Tom wrote, there is no such thing as bad press. 
 
You decided that there wasn't room enough in the pram for you and your toys and 
sent him a negative, snotty email.
 
The upshot of the whole exchange is that the journo recieved at least two 
emails. One was polite, informative and might help our sport. The other was 
rude, insulting and will only hurt the sport. Which of the two do you think 
will stick in his mind the longest?
