I was just looking at the MT1 schedule and noticed that there are no crossovers
really incorporated into it.

Teams have 6 games in total each, but it means very little chance to move
up/down in the rankings.

If I read this correct, a team seeded, say, 25th, can only finish as high as
21st in MT1. If the same format was followed for MT2 and MT3, that team could
then not finish higher than 13th at MT2, and 5th at MT3.

Considering that some teams were seeded based on judgement of the tour
organisers, shouldn't there be better scope for correction if the initial
seedings were not very accurate (not a fault of the tour organisers, but a
reality when we have no MT0)?

I couldn't help also notice that games finish on Saturday at 5:05pm. Surely
there is enough light these days to play till 7 or even 8 if needed - with 12
pitches we could easily fit in another game for up to 24 teams.

One could have strategic crossovers too - For example: let the top 2 teams in
each pool EFGH have cross overs against the bottom 2 teams in each pool ABCD -
not everyone in all those pools has to play crossovers. The idea being the top
2 teams in the pool have proven in pool play that they are strong for their
bracket (potentially underseeded), and the bottom 2 proving they may be weak
for their bracket (potentially overseeded).

Just some thoughts
