Dear all, I am sorry for sending two emails in one day, but I feel the need to clarify the point that I (and presumably James) was trying to make about noise and also my position on litter.
I have no problem with people coming back from the party and waking people up by mistake. I'm sure everyone has been on both sides of that fence in the past. The point was regarding the duration and content of the noise. Steve has apologised, both privately and publicly, on behalf of his team and for that I thank him. When I left the campsite there was an unacceptable amount of litter that had been left behind. Some of that litter was from the same individuals who had kept people awake the night before. The same cans of beer at the back of my tent as they had managed to spill over my tent whilst 'talking'. I think that is a fair assumption that the other litter interspersed with these cans resulted from the same people. The people who packed up the tents next to that litter were from Fully Charged and drove off leaving that litter behind. If, as Steve suggests, other members of their team cleared up the mess I apologise those people. If the mess was made by another team then I also apologise (and point my disappointment towards them). To be perfectly clear my point was not to criticise Fully Charged as a club but rather to criticise the selfish behaviour of a very small number of individuals. If I was certain of the names of the people concerned then I would have contacted them directly. We can only hope that these individuals will be more considerate in future. Litter is a difficult issue because it is impossible to know with absolute certainty who caused what and whether people genuinely forgot to pick up their litter or just didn't care. We should all give more consideration to Tournament Directors and venue staff or we will find good venues even harder to secure in the future.
