Agreed. With England out of the World Cup all we have left is the cheer on the UK teams in Prague (and Andy Murray of course).
I can confirm that Blockstack TV WILL BE THERE! Follow www.blockstack.tv for details. We'll be released a show tomorrow as our usual pre-worlds warm-up. Tom Styles and myself will be filming and interviewing teams from across the spectrum getting highlights and chat from all angles. We'll get as many shows out as we can. We're not promising a daily dose but we will do our best. We'll also be working closely with the Ultivillage team who will have clips on our show and also on UVTv on their website (www.ultivillage.com). Live games will be broadcast via a local company on http://www.strizna.cz/sekce/frisbee-world-ultimate-club-championships-2010-210-0.aspx Additionally, Tony Leonardo is there playing for Old Sag in the Master Div and writing newsletter articles available on the website. http://www.wucc2010.com and also a blog http://tonyleonardo.blogspot.com/ As for a previews and predictions... Open Division Many of the top teams have some easy games on the first day but what will be fun to see is whether Buzz Bullets from Japan are firing on all cylinders enough to defend their title amidst a full compliment of powerhouse US teams like Chain Lightning (UPA champs), Revolver, Ironside, Sockeye and Doublewide taking top seeds. Buzz's first test is against the home team called Silence. It's interesting to see that Canada only has only Mephisto (Montreal) and Invictus (Calgary) both ranked below Clapham and Chevy. This is because both Goat and Furious George missed Canadian Nationals. However...rumour time!...Invictus has modified their roster for 2010 and you might find it includes as many as 10 Furious players. Seeded 17th...some teams might be in for a surprise. Masters Division The UK team is Age Against the Machine. After we finished 2nd at xEUCF we've picked up quite a few new handy players. We spent Tour experimenting with lines and tactics, some of which were clinical and some we're definitely NOT going to use. The exciting thing is that we play the Aussies and the 1st seeded Japanese (Vigi) on the 1st day! Although both are seeded above us it's rumoured that both squads won't have the strength of their seed because of the distance of this event. Age hopes to take down some giants on the first day. Womens Division Iceni and Leeds kick off against old friends Yaka and Copenhagen which should be a nice yet challenging enough warm up match. What can be very confusing is there are two teams at WUCC called Lotus in this division. One at the bottom of the seedings from Switzerland and another from Toronto that is a real powerhouse and features a few of the Canadians you may know from previous UK stints like Hadiya and Alena from ex-Iceni (if they are playing in Prague this year). Mixed Division Obviously xEUCF champions Brighton are looking to do some damage with a very complimentary 7th seed. I do think that Codhand seeded at 15th is a similar mis-seed to Invictus on the Open division likely because they didn't complete at xEUCF however I could be wrong because I don't know how many players they'll lose to the Open teams. Either way the big one to watch and that will hopefully be streamed live will be the Codhand show game on Monday. Tune in and watch BlockStack TV for some chat after the game. Tom and I will do our best to get a show out late Saturday with a brief look at the Strahov and Vrsovice pitches so you can feel a bit more oriented. I'll be twittering as well using the same tag at Tom White and Tom Styles which is #wucc2010. You can follow that without being a twitter nut at http://twitter.com/#search?q=wucc2010 Cheers! See some of you there and some when we return. Steve G www.blockstack.tv On 29 June 2010 14:44, Tom White <[email protected]> wrote: > Yo, > > Have I missed some emails?
