a) it was freaking hot. make sure you stay out of the sun as much as possible and hydrate under the advice of someone that knows how to avoid the salt-deficit issue that as far as I remember first hit a UK player in Prague that year. b) beer was very cheap then, times have probably changed but 20p pints were the undoing of us on more than one occasion - ordering 14 beers has never been as easy on the wallet! c) there are some great restaurants and the town centre is very pretty - don't get too hung up watching every evening or lunch game, get out and see the sights d) the police might raid your dorm if the party gets out of hand, and they have big sticks....but they were very friendly and forgiving so long as you do what they tell you. e) don't stay at the party until 3am if you are the final the next day :-p f) Pitches were hard as far as I remember - don't forget turf shoes. Best of luck to *all *UK teams, bring us home a medal or two to celebrate and help us forget the World Cup.
