Kia ora BD/UU,
Cambridge Strange Blue would like to invite any players interested in
playing Open Tour with us to our start-of-season events in Cambridge
over the Royal Wedding weekend.
We are a long-established club with close ties to the two university
teams in Cambridge, as well as a strong town contingent. Last year we
placed 16th in Tour and 12th at Nationals.
This year we are hoping to build on the successes of the student season
and climb further up the rankings, with a focus on developing the
players in our squad to compete at the top levels of Tour. Currently we
plan to enter two teams for each Tour event.
We run our practices on Jesus Green in central Cambridge. Practices are
on Tuesday evenings (1st team squad) 6-8pm, and Sunday mornings 11am-1pm
(open to all, followed by pickup).
Our start of season calendar is as follows:
Sat 30th of April - Town v Gown
Sun 1st of May - Skills day - 11am
**Tues 3rd - Tour squad trials - 6pm on Jesus Green**
Sun 8th - Open-to-all practice followed by team meeting - 11am on Jesus
Green
Tues 10th - First Tour squad practice
If you're interested in playing for our first team, attendance at the
squad trials on Tuesday 3rd May is highly desirable.
