Calling all potential GB WOMENS MASTERS!

Following up on the note below, I've been making enquiries about GB's
ability to field a Women's Master's team in Japan in July 2012. These are
the key points:

   - This will (hopefully!) be the first Women's Master's worlds ultimate
event EVER! Whoever goes will be pioneers for this new and exciting
   division!
   - To be eligible, you must be 1) female, 2) over 30 (yes, there is a
younger age requirement for the women's division compared to the open
division) and 3) either British, or a resident of the UK and involved in
British ultimate (exact criteria for non-GB passport holders can be found
   on the WFDF website).
   - To make the event viable, there needs to be 6 teams committed. USA,
Canada, Japan and Australia are already committed. GB should really be
able to field a team as well! Finland, Germany, Colombia and the
Philippines are closely looking into it. This has the potential to be an
   awesome tournament with great competition!
   - We need 6 teams committed by the end of this month or we wait another
   4 years...

So far, my behind-the-scenes efforts to find someone willing to drive the
organization of a GB Womens Masters team have not been very fruitful (FYI,
I can't do this moving forward as I intend to play GB Womens). Therefore,
I'm hoping to reach a wider audience with this email to BD and UKUW. What
I need are three things:

   1. If you know someone eligible but who may not be on BD, forward this
email to them and pester them to reply!
   2. If you are eligible and interested in playing for GB Women's Masters
this coming July, send me an email and let me know! At this point, Maybes
are ok but a % likelihood is more useful. Replies will determine whether
we can field a team, so please reply if you are interested.
   3. REGARDLESS OF IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE (i.e. calling men as well who might
like to get involved): Would you be interested in helping with the
organization of the team? If yes, please let me know via email!

Our ability to mobilize could make or break the inclusion of this division
in Worlds, so please email me immediately if you can. If you need to think
about it, deadline for getting back to me is Tuesday, 10th January.

NOTE: At this point, I do not know whether there will be tryouts for this
team. It will depend on interest level as well as the decisions of the
eventual organizers/captains. But I would expect the answer is no.
Therefore, your reply to this email could be key. Do it now.

If you have questions, check out the Facebook group (2012 WUGC Women's
Masters Division <http://www.facebook.com/groups/296963036987300/>) or
email me.

Many thanks,
Aura
