Fine (but no promises anytime soon).  I'll work on it as I can and
submit a proposed patch if/when ready.

Are we agreed on the extension being '.pl3'? # pee-ell-three

If so, then it seems to me that all the programs with pl in the name (as
above as a minimum) should have (in Perlese): 

  $progname =~ s/pl/pl3/o;
