Um. I sorted your listing alphabetically and did a side-by-side: > Release 7.20.4: Developer 7.21.0: > ============= ============== > > $ ls /usr/brlcad/rel-7.20.4 $ ls /usr/brlcad/dev-7.21.0 > bin include lib share bin include install lib share > $ ls /usr/brlcad/rel-7.20.4/share $ ls /usr/brlcad/dev-7.21.0/share/brlcad 7.21.0 $ ls /usr/brlcad/dev-7.21.0/share/brlcad/7.21.0 > AUTHORS AUTHORS > COPYING COPYING > HACKING HACKING > INSTALL INSTALL > NEWS NEWS > README README > data data > db db > doc doc > etc etc > html html > icons icons > man man > nirt nirt > pix pix > plugins plugins > sample_applications sample_applications > tclscripts tclscripts > vfont vfont Aside from the new logic putting the data in share/brlcad/7.21.0, it seems to be the same - and the final location of the data directory is not really a hard-and-fast standard, AFAIK - indeed, it was sometimes inconsistent even between different versions of Autotools (one of my major annoyances with Autotools, in fact...) You can override the DATA_DIR variable to customize things, if you like... -DDATA_DIR=share may get you closer to the old 7.20.4 structure you are seeing. > P.S. Sorry about that stray t.c. Heh - sorry about that. Just curious - how is it ugly? You should be able, with very little trouble, to do everything you were doing with the original Docbook setup - I thought I had achieved full parity with both html and pdf output, did I miss something? I documented how to do things like validation with custom validators in the doc/docbook README file.
