It's really up to your discretion but the goal I originally had in mind was
simple -- an image to help devs immediately start writing and debugging code
without our involvement. The idea was inspired during GCI where the interest
is brief, fleeting, and from high-school students.

I think that just raises questions about what all those other modules are, and
most are irrelevant to new devs.

Can we get emacs with X11 support instead of xemacs? Subtle, but they have
different function sets. The .emacs config file at
http://brlcad.org/wiki/Emacs would be great to have already in place too along
with the cmake-mode.

If you do include one, it might help to do the initial set up so it's got a
project already pointing to our sources with build output going to the build
dir. That said, I'd probably leave it out for a first cut.

So I keep going back on forth on the build directory. I think there's some
value to have cmake already run with BRLCAD_BUILD_LIBS=ON and installed into
/usr/brlcad, but then run make clean so the object files are gone. Other than
that, nothing else comes to mind. Can't wait to try it out!

Cheers!
