What we usually do in a case like that is provide a patch file to be
applied to the released tarball.

What I'd suggest (or I can do it) is to backport the fixes for vdeck
and comgeom-g to STABLE branch.  I've been syncing fixes to it that
don't depend on larger changes in trunk, and from what I recall your
vdeck/comgeom-g work was fairly self contained?
