It compiles, but I can't get an image in the separate frame buffer when I do "> rt" inside the mged GUI or on the command line. I do see the image in the mged GUI faceplate when I use the raytrace tool. I'm redoing to make sure I'm not lying. If I get the same results, then I'll add libxft-dev back in and see what happens.
