Hi all,

I just recently discovered BRL-CAD (after trying lots of other open
source CAD/modeling software), and found that it best fits (compared to
all others) my expectations of what a good CAD program should do.

However it also has some weak points, and there are some features in
other packages which could fit in and make BRL-CAD even stronger. I'm
ready to go for some of that - hence I subscribed to this developer's
mailing list, but I find that there's virtually nothing happening
here... am I in the wrong forum here or BRL-CAD is really not followed
up by anyone who takes ownership of it ?

I really would like to have an open discussion about what is expected
from a good CAD software, where BRL-CAD stands and where it wants to go
- the documentation on the web is too scattered, partially outdated, and
generally not very conclusive (sometimes even confusing) about these
points.

I also tried the #brlcad FreeNode IRC channel - either IRC changed
meaning since I last used it (was real long time ago), or there are only
bots listening on that channel, cause I didn't get any answer on my
hellos.

I would be glad of some directions about where can I have some
discussion about BRL-CAD - to see if it is really the best open source
3D CAD software package I will use and try to improve to fit my needs !

Cheers,
Csaba Nagy
