The segfault can be reproduced in the debugger but I've managed to catch it
just when not using classic mged (without the -c option).

 You really need a stack trace or debugging information of some sort to go

I've also tried to run BRL-CAD as single-threaded but the behavior persists
so the parallelism is not a problem.
