Hello! I am Albert, an undergraduate 3rd year computer science student. I have interest-driven learning in C++(decent familiarity with C++11), Shell Scripting and MySQL. I have a strong affinity for Linux which led me grasp the basic Linux commands and explore them. As far as web technologies are concerned I have a good command over HTML, CSS, Javascript. In my last academic session I studied a subject called "computer graphics" which stimulated my interest in drawing graphics, visualizations, designs etc. with the aid of computers. This led me to be magnetized to BRL-CAD since it is an epitome of its field in open source development.
I have chosen "Materials Database" as my project for GSoC this year since I have ample interest in web development and database management and when I read the requirements for this project that is i. Ability to run shell scripts ii. Ability to navigate a UNIX/Linux command-prompt iii. Familiarity with web development technologies I instantly felt this is the project I was looking for. I am applying in GSoC for the first time.
