The database that Drupal instance ran on for more.brlcad.org needs to be
updated and since nobody has had the time to do that, it is down.

Pavel, the GSoC submission deadline was a little over a month ago. You can see
the students and follow the projects that were selected here:

That said, you certainly don't need to be accepted for GSoC to begin working on
any aspect of BRL-CAD on your own. If you're interested in working in this
area or others, let me know and we can get you set up.
