Since your eyes are with a fresh perspective, it would be helpful if you also assigned a “high/medium/low” value to each in terms of how useful having that discrepancy corrected would be. If it’s too complicated, uncertain, or difficult to categorize them like that, certainly don’t worry about it and we’ll proceed. If they do at least have some high/low categorization, that can help direct which issues we focus on first or which we might leave out entirely (and update the docs). > Re the GUI, do you guys have any plans to switch to Qt or another modern > framework in the medium or long run? Tk is not too user-friendly (no undos, …) We are going to Qt. There’s lots of activity on that front but it’s a lot of work as you may imagine. Vlad’s been working hard on getting a framebuffer (2D) and display manager (the 3D views) working in Qt and he’s just about got everything working there. That’s been nearly a year’s effort coming to fruition there alone. Gurjot and Vlad have more recently been working on converting the main interface over from a Tk loop to a Qt event loop. Cliff has been working on getting drop-in scene graph management working that uses Qt windowing, which resulted in extensive restructuring of and improvements to the display manager library. He has a working tree view in Qt too. In all, we’re right on the cusp and might even be able to make Archer Beta be a Qt interface (it’s Alpha now), but there’s still more work needed. Note, however, that Tk has nothing to do with providing an undo capability… that’s completely on our hands to implement (and is a whole other discussion). Jumping to Qt doesn’t automatically give us that feature . :) Cheers!
