The name of the source file is also the name of the command. As they are developer commands, they are not installed — they only reside in your build tree in the corresponding BUILDDIR/src/proc-db directory. > 2. I’m not sure I understand, or I do understand and it doesn’t matter at this point… With a proposal objective to implement general NURBS editing support, it should be generally applicable to any/all NURBS objects. The sphere created by the brep_cobb procedural geometry database tool is useful test geometry. The brep_cobb command provides no user editing interface, so I’m not sure what changes would even make sense there. > 3. Is there a pre-existing file "brep_cobb.g" that is opened by wdb ? Pre-existing? No. You have to run the brep_cobb command to get it to generate geometry. > 4. Should I ask such technical questions on mailing list, or should I wait on > IRC? This is mostly a personal preference. However, I recommend this approach: ASK ON IRC ONLY IF YOU STAY ON IRC. :) If someone cannot stay on IRC, they really shouldn’t be asking questions there. It’s generally considered rude to ask a question and leave before getting an answer (even after waiting for hours) — they’re using IRC wrong. People are on IRC 24/7 but from different timezones and obviously not just sitting there waiting to answer questions. IRC will generally be much faster, but only when people stick around for answers. When people ask and detach/leave, they obviously will not get a response. See http://brlcad.org/wiki/IRC for details. That said, coming up with a list of very specific questions like yours is an excellent use of the mailing list. Cheers!
