On that note, I believe I fixed the underlying cause for that error last night.
It needs to be tested, but you shouldn't need to specify the ray_data_file or
stub an empty one now (i.e., in the next release). If you're set up to
compile, I could use an independent set of eyes to confirm it's fixed.
Any news on an update for BRL-CAD? It’s been a while.
A special release was made a month or two back for ARL/DoD, version 7.24.4, but
it was not posted publicly (only to the repo). The focus is now on 7.26.0,
which I'm hoping reviews will be wrapped up this or next week.
I'm still working through the massive backlog of work we acquired last year --
thousands of changes; an incredible amount of activity including changes to our
core geometry analysis infrastructure. We don't release until every change has
been reviewed by someone, regression tests all pass, and every user-visible
change has been documented.
The reviews are nearly complete and tests are all passing, but there is a lot
of documenting still needed.
