Thanks for quick and suggestive mail. This is inspiring me to make more
realistic proposal.
I am proposing CI as it is easy to start with fast pace. Low foot print
(~12 mb), Fast to code and easy to maintain.
(I will use Existing code as reference, as many of the functions are
deprecated, so I will rewrite it to latest version of PHP. MVC with latest
PHP will enable us to put more features quickly, in future. I think this
will be a good milestone achieved)
Above ~4 weeks (So by Mid-term, users will see the site online.)
Main 'NEW' features that will be user-visible are :
User Dashboard with file system - ~3 weeks.
Comments on Model - ~1.5 week.
I think these two new features in itself is great achievements of this
project, which will allow user of BRL-CAD to do collaborative work Online.
https://360.autodesk.com/ is still in Beta phase. So we are not too late
to have these features.
And some other features like Login through social media and CI Email. will
take ~1.5 week.
So above, deployed on server will be over by GSoC time line.
(I am in process of designing & preparing Proposal to detail the tasks
and timeline).
NURBS
My knowledge limited to:
1. I wrote code for Bezier curve (Cubic) in c++.
2. I wrote code Bezier surface using two dimensional cubic Bezier curve in
c++.
3. I used NURBS function of glu in OpenGL with 4 x 4 control points and 8
knot points to produce NURB surface. (But I have not done any maths part)
4. I have tried basic primitives in Three.js and that Three.js do not have
inbuilt support for NURBS. So I have not included it in my 'very brief
proposal' Email.
(I saw one good example doing it in Three.js , but now not in scope of my
proposal for GSoC, to meet the deadline. But After GSoC it will be
exciting for me to include it ).
To submit one heck of a patch
Is it okay that I implement Authentication module in CI and demonstrate ?
Or
Do you want me to fix any bug / enhancement in BRL-CAD ?
