You're on the right track with the struct, but not how you're using it.
Right now, bu_parallel() sets the two static global variables, calls
parallel_interface() (via pthread_create()), that calls the user's callback
function (that was set in the static global variable).
You're going to change that so that the static global variables are not
used. To do that, bu_parallel() will instead use your struct, set the
*users* function in there, pass that to parallel_interface(), and it'll get
called.
