It was just raised to my attention that you just might be referring to a CSG
boolean operation.  A CSG "subtraction" does cut away geometry exactly like
you describe, but isn't a command per-se.  It's an operation that you
perform on the geometry when combining geometry into a "combination" object.
Is that what you're referring to?

That's not ringing bells with at least myself or Bob Parker.. maybe someone
else recalls this one..  Do you recall a version (or year)?Sounds like a
pretty odd command, though.  Was the box 2D or 3D?  Did the object have to
be fully contained within the box or just some part of it overlap the box?

It wouldn't be hard to write a script or command that does as you suggest
for fully contained primitives inside an arb8 or inside a 2D rect on the
view, but the utility seems somewhat limited for general use.
