I installed the latest BRLTTY 6.2 pre-release code from Git master. I also ran "make install" for both the udev and systemd components.

The result now is that BRLTTY starts successfully, detects the braille display, but then stops later in the boot process with a "BRLTTY stopped" message on the display. The journal shows that systemd is stopping the BRLTTY instance (with no reason given, as before).
