Thanks all for the help! After I put in the *correct* IP address, it
works! Just a few oddities:
* When printing text files, like files in the Emacs Org-mode (.org)
format, it comes out in computer braille. That's not too bad, actually.
* When printing out Microsoft Word files, (.docx), no formatting is
preserved. Is there a way to preserve the formatting of the document?
Thanks all for the help!

hello. The Index embossers, when connected to a network, accept print
jobs on port 9100/tcp for embossing. If you arrange for Cups to send
formatted brf data to port 9100 at your Index's IP address, you should get
embossed output from the Index itself. A common tool to do this is the nc
command. For my Index embosser, which I use in this manner, this works,
modulo some timing caveats. I won't detail those here, since I think
they're probably firmware bugs that have been fixed in newer versions of
the firmware, my Index is a pretty old machine.
Hope that helps.
