Hello all,

Would someone be able to help me with getting BrlTTY running on Fedora 33, see below? My braille display says "Not in text mode" while in GUI. On the TTY-consoles, however, it works perfectly.

Thank you very much.

Hello,

Can someone point me to the steps to get BrlTTY running in GUI mode with Orca? I'm using Fedora 33 and an X.org server instead of Wayland.

On the system's TTY-consoles, BrlTTY works perfectly. I only had to enable and start the service like this:
   sudo systemctl enable brltty;
   sudo systemctl start brltty;

It even uses my personal Braille table, as set in /etc/brltty.conf.

- In Orca (master), I have Braille support enabled.
- BrlTTY is in version "6.1 rev unknown".
- I'm using a Freedom Scientific Focus 40 Blue via USB, but it is detected as a "Freedom Scientific Focus 3" by lsusb.

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards,

does your user in brlapi group?

No, when I try to add my user to it, I get:

$ sudo usermod -aG brltty fwiep
usermod: group 'brltty' does not exist

Thanks,
