Hi Dave, and thank you for your reply.

Yes, from my experimentation so far, other chorded commands such as Space+125 work. I tried the command Space+Dots138 for enabling the Braille keyboard, but I'm not getting any indication (alerts/messages etc) as to whether it is enabled, was already enabled etc, even after I went into the Preferences and changed Alert Dots and Alert Messages to Yes. Was that the command you were referring to for enabling the Braille keyboard (Space+Dots138), which is what is listed in the Key Bindings for the Brailliant BI 40 when I'm reading it on my Windows desktop? But what's more puzzling is, when I'm reading the Help screen via my phone with the Brailliant, I'm getting different commands - for example: enter/leave help display: ControlLeft+ShiftLeft+KP0+KP8. (Or maybe KP7 - I wasn't completely sure, as one of the dots in the corresponding cell seemed to be faint, so it's a bit flady.) What is this KP even referring to?

Regards

Vivien

Hi:

I had wondered about that, and I was trying the command with all keys pressed
at the same time, but also as a sequence.
Do other chords work? For example, does Space+h (dots 125) take you to brltty's
help screen? As I recall, the Brailliant BI has a menu setting to turn the
keyboard on/off. It could be, therefore, that your keyboard is simply turned
off.

If you're sure that your keyboard is turned on then I'd suggest to practice
those multi-key chords just in case getting all the keys pressed at the same
time is a bit tricky for you to do.

Unfortunately, I also don't know how to get the device's log.
The first thing you need to do is to install Android's SDK (software
development kit) on your computer. That'll give you the adb (Android debug
bridge) command. It has a logcat function for getting the log.
