If you can kill the Marco process from another console and the problem clears, then you will know that is probably it.  I set up Debian to use Metacity, which is not difficult.  If you want the instructions, let me know, but it isn't a good long term solution.

If the problem happens, you can get out of it by pressing insert-space in ORCA, or possibly by moving the mouse pointer.

Hello,
Interesting idea. Might be worth trying a different window manager.
Thanks,

Marco process becomes hung, but this is just a guess.

Hello,
Starting in the last two years or so, I have been seeing applications
become unresponsive when I am not in X. A typical example is the spotify
client. If I set music playing and then switch to a TTY, playback will
eventually stop, usually when a new track would start. Furthermore,
trying to talk to the client via D-BUS from the console will block until
I switch back to X. All of this used to work fine until circa 2021. I
assume this is linked to some kind of security policy but I'm not sure
where to start. Has anybody any suggestions?
Thanks,
S.M.
