I have been trying different commands. Some work. Some don't. For example, I can press dots 1-2-4-5-8 and chord to change to a contracted table but I can't press dots 1-2-4-5-7 and chord to change to uncontracted. Dots 2-6 and chord for escape doesn't work. Still no input from the keyboard.
I have excuted the following sysctl command: sysctl dev.tty.legacy_tiocsti=1 The output was: dev.tty.legacy_tiocsti = 1 Are there any other sysctl commands I can try? I've tried four different displays (all different models and makes). All with the same result. No matter what combination I press, I get no response. What I want is to be able to say change my table using a standard keyboard such as switching from NABCC to UEB in terminal as I cannot do that at the moment using a perkins keyboard on the display it is completely unresponsive. For example I would like to perform, as I would on a Focus Blue using the commands dots 12458 and chord or 12347 and chord, to switch between uncontracted and contracted using a standard keyboard, since I cannot do unable to do this as the commands don't currently work on any braille display. Basically, no Chord + dot combination work. Not one single command. It might not be a bug with BRLTTY per se, but it is a bug in Ubuntu 23.04, and 22.04 LTS wasn't great either hence the upgrade. I have executed the following command successfully: sysctl dev.tty.legacy_tiocsti=1 But it has made no difference to my issue. I might just switch to a different distro at this time. Whatever the ause of your problem is, it's not a bug. I, too, am suspecting that it's the TIOCSTI issue. Did you maybe issue the sysctl command and then reboot to get brltty restarted? What was the sysctl command that you executed, and then what was its output? -- I believe the Bible to be the very Word of God: http://Mielke.cc/bible/ Dave Mielke | 2213 Fox Crescent | WebHome: http://Mielke.cc/ EMail: [email protected] | Ottawa, Ontario | Twitter: @Dave_Mielke Phone: +1 613 726 0014 | Canada K2A 1H7 | _______________________________________________ This message was sent via the BRLTTY mailing list.
