hello Peter.  While I'm not super familiar  with the Braille Blazer 
specifically, I
believe the issue you're runing into is a printer setting issue, rather than a 
problem with the
linux usb->serial driver. There should be a menu inside the Blazer that lets 
you set various
things: i.e. paper length, line length, baud rate on the serial port, etc.  
Among those items
will be various translation modes.  I'm not sure what the menu calls these 
settings or what the
choices are, but if you experiment with the menu, I think you'll find a setting 
that works.
Also,I happen to have a copy of the Blazer user's manual, see link below, which 
might help you
resolve this issue as well.
