It could be a problem with the device, yes. But a problem with the device
should not "lock up my system", i.e. lead to BRLTTY not handling keyboard
events (if a keyboard table is configured). The problem  is anyway hard to
reproduce, I have a system where this problem occurs and another where it
doesn't.
