Rob, I am on arch linux and am not seeing this. What braille display do you have? What is your software stack like?
I am running arch linux bare metal with wayland, gnome and mate installed. However, I don't have orca speaking, either, so this is probably a lightdm issue. However, on the arch iso, latest version archlinux-2025.11.01-x86_64, I have no braille either; it says, no screen, at the prompt. If I was strictly a braille user, I would not be able to use BRLTTY to do anything, here. In addition, once logged in to my installed system, and I try to switch to a console, nothing changes on my braille display. It simply shows the last thing orca sent it. I took the udev rules from BRLTTY 6.7 and put them in /etc/udev/rules.d and reloaded udev. No change. What has been so severely broken in BRLTTY these days to make it almost unusable? _______________________________________________ This message was sent via the BRLTTY mailing list.
