I can't see any way to satisfy that request -- nor do I see this as being
a major impediment to Solaris adoption.

I still prefer '/'; I think the risk of confusion with a netmask prefix
length is minimal given that on Solaris netmasks are tied to IP addresses
and not IP interfaces, and e.g. '/1' is would be a pretty strange prefix
length ;-)
