Jenya can elaborate on this. But as I remember from our initial discussions, she grayed out some choices only to show that disabling some choices can be done if, for some reason, those choices are not available or allowed for a specific link. It is an imagined scenario, coming from non-techies, to boot ;) So the screen in question does not reflect any real situation with bge. Jenya and I don't know for a fact that, e.g., for speed-duplex, some drivers have less capabilities than others and so would have those choices grayed out. Perhaps in the end, none of those choices will ever be disabled. We will take the cue from the comments and feedback received.
