Of course that is possible. Of the chemicals, I think caustic soda (NaOH) is the strongest. It dissolves almost all living material, including infections. Be *very* careful not to get any in your eyes! Soak your bucket (and lid and air lock and siphon and funnel and ...) over night. If it has lots of shit on the outside, then yes, of course. But probably not. The color change is due to the acidic wort removing the copper oxide from the surface.
