More updates on this

* I don't think the problem was caused by the migration of the list
from one machine to the other.
* Even on the old machine, some people who should've been subscribed
to the list are not. Based on mailman logs, I can't see why.

So I took the following corrective action:

* Manually restored mail-archive.com and gmane.org mirroring
* Wrote a script to parse the "subscribe" file mailman maintains. This
is a append-only file that has a log of everything that happened from
around 2005.

I found 30 email addresses that should've been subscribed but are not.
Out of those, only 9 subscribed in 2007. I sent an email to these 9
people notifying them of the problem.

Hope this doesn't happen again. If anyone with some experience with
mailman has clues about what might be going on, please send me an
email privately.
