I agree to that.

But take the practical look on the situation.

For other certifications there are already obvious means of
preprations and it doesnot matter if the certifying authority takes
the above stand.

but if the "BSD certification" endeavour mean to look complete and
help people there needs atleast giving some concrete information on
where to find study materials. It should go beyond stating things
like.

1) BSDs have good documentation
2) There is already good documentation on the Internet for BSDs
3) Man pages are fantastic
4) Just gogle it and you will find enough info 
5) Its very easy to find the right info just google it 

and so on

If these statements are actually true why is it not easy to just
prepare a list of resources and give it along with the course outlines
so that people can easilylocate them ? Again please note I am not
suggesting creating new study materials although  feel that it won't
be a very bad Idea.
