There's obviously some kind of middle ground here.
There is a limit to what an admin can do, but having at least a 'systems'
awareness of how the code functions is, I believe, useful.
But for most admins, I'm sure, rather than open up vi
they'd rather just install something else, or get a dev person to look at it.
Knowing when to do so, and communicating your need clearly, is an essential
skill.
