Little bit of a chicken and egg problem here which we do try to minimize as much as possible. All of this takes research to best define the needs and what is available to meet those needs. Though it may not seem obvious, you are helping when you take part in and advertise the existence of things like task analysis surveys, bsd usage surveys, country specific surveys, etc. You are also helping when you respond to calls for assistance and put your two cents in when a question is raised on this mailing list. And to my knowledge, I haven't seen a dumb question raised yet on this list. And the discussions that take place are relevant. If a question is specifically raised by a group member, you can be sure that a publication dealing with that issue is coming up :-) Don't underestimate the value of this list--it is an extremely valuable resource to gauge what is important to the community. You can also get a good idea on what is happening on a near daily basis by following the project blog at http://bsdcg.blogspot.com/, which btw is now RSS enabled. I've said it before but it bears repeating, if you see something that needs to be done and you have some expertise in that area, don't be shy. Email me directly or fill in the contact form at the website. Don't take it personally if it takes a day or so for someone to get back to you--someone will get back to you and will put you in touch with the appropriate subgroup working on that task. Just as importantly, if you have advice on what models you have seen work (or not work) and you think it would apply to BSD certification, describe them. Remember this is a global effort so don't assume that something that works in your neck of the woods would not be applicable to this project.
