Hi Martin,

Welcome to the list. I also received your contact submission and hopefully can
answer everything in this email.

The Task Analysis Survey specifically asked the community for suggestions for
the cert names for both a less advanced and more advanced exam. You can see
those results on pages 108-110 of the Report available for download from the
news tab of the website.

The Group then went through those suggestions and researched existing
trademarks for each acronymn, discarding those already trademarked as well as
discarding acronymns that were well used though not trademarked. We then had an
initial vote to narrow down the possibilities. We just finished our final vote
this past Monday.

The Task Analysis Survey also defined two audiences interested in certification
and the tasks suited to each of those audiences. The two audiences are defined
on p. 9 of the roadmap which is also available for download on the news tab of
the website. We are now combing through the tasks to create exam objectives for
the "associate" level exam as the document describing that is due to be
published on Oct. 4. As we come across things that need clarification, we drop
a quick question to the list. If you read the past month's archives, you'll
find several such threads.

HTH,

Dru
