If you select "I don't wish to connect" then it doesnt make any sense to have a box which you can untick to download updates. It should be greyed out - which it is. The fact that it is ticked is a side effect of the default being ticked but greyed out.
I'm going to mark this as invalid for the above reasons. ** Changed in: ubuntubudgie Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of ubuntu budgie bug busters, which is subscribed to Ubuntu Budgie. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1754797 Title: During installation: "download updates while installing" option is not optional Status in Ubuntu Budgie: Invalid Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Downloaded latest daily build of UB 32-bit a couple of hours ago. Checked SHA256sum, installed from Live USB. During installation process, on screen called "Preparing to install Ubuntu Budgie", there's an option to "download updates while installing". This box is ticked and that option is simultaneously greyed out, so it cannot be un-ticked. This is odd for two reasons: 1) On the previous installation step, I selected the option for "I don't wish to connect to a wifi network right now"; and 2) On every other installation I've ever done of Ubuntu or it's variants, this option is both un-ticked by default and allows the option to be ticked. This is as things should be.
