Hi again,

I just figured how to find the key:

*eedjsa@server68:~/.gnupg$ gpg --auto-key-locate keyserver --locate-keys [email protected]
pub   rsa2048 2013-09-24 [SC]
      3EB2E2ECCB2F040A26CB7F2192B68B71531B6686
uid           [ultimate] Jürgen Sauermann (Programmer) <[email protected]>
sub   rsa2048 2013-09-24 [E]
*
If you look at the bug-apl@gnu,org mail archive then you will see (up to year 2020 or so) thousands of emails sent by myself (and the above email if you press the reply button
at the bottom of each posting).

So it looks as if the key is still valid even though the email address has disappeared in the meantime. That also explains why my uploads to the gnu project worked without
errors.

Best Regards,
Jürgen

Alright, I'll just use SVN in that case; I appreciate the help getting to the
bottom of this oddity.
