;-) Let me rephrase: Should the content of this line be changed (A) by opening the file using an editor of choice and editing, hoping everything will be OK or (B) using texconfig-sys? Good enough? I take it that you are not a native speaker. But you seem to comprehend the english language better than I do... Using auctex's current CVS solved the problem (see other posting).
