Yes.  This was a by-product of an effort to get rid of color spill
leading to high CPU usage.  However, the current code is not yet
completely stable.  I am thinking about generalizing it and putting it
into another file to be used as an alternative to font-latex and
reverting the changes in font-latex.el.
