RefTeX actually contains code supporting BibTeX entries with parens
instead of braces. But the syntax table used for parsing BibTeX files
tries to ignore them. So I've changed the syntax table in RefTeX's CVS
repository which should fix the bug. Currently I cannot think about any
adverse effects of such a change but it would be nice if people could
test it and report problems in case there appear any.
