I often have that problem, with every Autoconf release. There are often
niggling little differences with downstream distros.
The hard part for us volunteers is turning the crank, which mostly means
doing real tests. The incremental amount of work and risk involved with
all the patches (rather than just the patch you want) is so small that
we should just do them all. Among other things, we do need the patch
that updates copyright dates regardless....
