I don't think there have been "ad-hominem attacks" against you here. You
have certainly been criticized and corrected, but you have to expect that,
especially on "a technical mailinsg list."
You're opinionated, which is fine, and that's accompanied by hyperbole and
the absolute certainty that you're right, which is off-putting and
diminishes your argument.
