------- Additional Comments From kris dot van dot hees at oracle dot com 2008-05-28 18:18 ------- Looking into this a bit more I noticed the rather specific magic that happens for the [experimental] CONFIG_RELOCATABLE option, and the fact that I am compiling the kernel with that option. Specificaly selecting a non-relocatable kernel results in what seems like a perfectly bootable kernel.
Summary: I am currently running a Linux system (Fedora 8-based) using a 2.6.24 kernel that was built on a system (Debian-based) using binutils with gold as linker. Conclusion: It seems like the relocatable kernel handling stuff is the culprit in ending up with a non-booting kernel. -- http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=6407 ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. _______________________________________________ bug-binutils mailing list bug-binutils@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-binutils
