I have a simple example:

There are some assembler outputs:
$ arm-linux-gnueabi-as -ahl 1.s
ARM GAS 1.s page 1
1 /*
2 0000 0000A0E1 */#
3 nop
4 0004 0000A0E1 nop
5
$ mips-linux-as -ahl 1.s
GAS LISTING 1.s page 1
1 /*
2 0000 00000000 */#
3 nop
4 0004 00000000 nop
5 0008 00000000
5 00000000
After some modification:
/*
*/
nop
nop
listing is corect.
$ arm-linux-gnueabi-as -ahl 1.s
ARM GAS 1.s page 1

2 */
3 0000 0000A0E1 nop
4 0004 0000A0E1 nop
