The issue is observed with binutils-2.25
[atul@localhost patched]$ ./prefix/bin/arm-windriver-linux-gnueabi-as --version
GNU assembler (GNU Binutils) 2.25
I have tested the same with the simple hello world program as below:
[atul@localhost patched]$ ./prefix/bin/arm-windriver-linux-gnueabi-gcc
~/hello.c -o hello
[atul@localhost patched]$ ./prefix/bin/arm-windriver-linux-gnueabi-objcopy
--extract-symbol hello
